Marlow Rosado

( Listen to what a Grammy Winning Artist/Producer sounds like)

After over 15 years of being the go to musical director for artist like Tito Nieves, Tito Puente Jr., Larry Harlow, Jerry Rivera, Cee lo Green among so many others, Marlow Rosado “SALSANIMAL” Took center stage in 2009 when he successfully produced his first record “SALSALSA”, which was signed to legendary record company Fania Records. Marlow became the first artist signed by Fania in over 18 years, making him part of a historic family which includes Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, and many of the other legendary artists under the umbrella of this emblematic label.

In 2012 Marlow Rosado released his second album entitled “RETRO”. This record surprised the entire Latin music industry when it won the 2012 American Grammy for “Best Tropical Latin Album” beating out Bachata sensation & Latin music’s giant Romeo Santos. In 2014 Marlow Rosado releases production number three, this album is a true image of Rosado’s personality. The aggressive producer/songwriter shows us why he is, as the title of the album describes, the “SALSANIMAL”, the heavy-metal band of salsa as written in the LA Times.

In 2016 Rosado joined forces with the legendary Pianist and salsa legend Larry Harlow for their historic music document, producing the very natural and unique record “HARLOW MARLOW”. This record brings together two producers with very similar styles from completely different eras in a very unique collaboration.

Marlow Rosado is currently in the studio working on his 5th production which promises to bring the always exiting and surprising elements that has become very characteristic of Marlow Rosado.

Reviews

Many artists find it hard to sustain a high level of creative output, but Marlow Rosado has done it again! Granted, he set the bar very high after his first album, Salsalsa was #1 on Puerto Rico’s Zeta 93 for over 13 weeks, followed by his second album Retro, which won the 2013 American Grammy for Best Tropical Album – that’s a hard act to follow – but just wait until you hear SALSANIMAL – it’s a beast!

The 2013 Grammy Award winner for BEST TROPICAL LATIN ALBUM: “Retro” Marlow Rosado Y La Riqueña are back with a smokin new CD entitled “Salsanimal” which includes 12 tracks that caters to all salsa lovers. This new production unlike his Grammy winning CD contains all original tracks which were all composed by Marlow Rosado and with special invited guests such as Jon Secada,Larry Harlow,Richie Ray,Herman Olivera,Domingo Quiñones,Alex Matos,De La Torre,Jose Arrojo,Mayito Rivera,Checo Acosta and Javier Merino. I have several favorite tracks on this CD “Cataño (feat Herman Olivera)”,88 Mil Teclas (feat Larry Harlow Richie Ray), No Me Interesas (feat Jose Arroyo)” and the track I’m featuring called “Quiero Que Me Quieras” featuring a new vocalist Javier Merino who I’m sure you’ll be hearing a lot more from him in the near future. Marlow has definitely put together another Bangin production.

The catch-all tropical Latin album category is one of the fuzziest, encompassing everything from salsa and cumbia to bachata, reggaeton and merengue. But there’s nothing vague or soft-edged about this year’s winner, Marlow Rosado y La Riqueña, who won the award with his album “Retro” (Pink Chaos Productions).
